A Dying Art (MC101)

So, it is obvious that newspapers are dying. More and more businesses are shutting down because there just isn't a need for printed media like there used to be. Most people, including myself, are either turning on our TV's for news or using the internet. Social media sites are the main flow of all different kinds of news, from politics to celebrities. All TV news sites and a majority of newspapers have an internet site too that is more accessible to people. Although many papers are going out of business due to lack of money flow, I believe they will never fully die because there will always be some people that like something more tangible. After all, technology isn't always reliable and there might be a day when the internet crashes. Simply for the sake of keeping records safe, there will be written documents needed.

Would you let me borrow your umbrella?

"A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." -Mark Twain

Everyone gets screwed over from time to time by others. By doctors. By car salesmen. By realtors. By strangers. By boyfriends/girlfriends. Even by bankers. But it hurts worst when it's by best friends. It's ruthless and cold, but most of all unexpected.
If a cruel fate like that ever was to happen to you, remember, keep your head up and don't look back. Know who you are and stay true to that, even when you are criticised by those whose opinion matters most to you. Stand behind what you believe in and don't loose faith.
If a banker, or any other person, would lend me his umbrella on a sunny day and take it back on a rainy one, I'll forgive and forget and on the next rainy day, let him borrow my umbrella. Because isn't the most important lesson in life to forgive and forget?

Some short poems.

Snow

The snow swoops down
on dove's wings.

It lands watching
over silent lands
on peaceful means
and then flies away.

Cinquain

Night
Stars twinkle
Trees rustle softly
Darkness wraps around me
Silence

Haiku

The sun shines through clouds
Warm rays melt the snow below
Lilies bloom once more

Limerick

In her hair she wore a flower
She resided in a tower
But once she fell down
And got caught by her gown
And now hangs on the side of the tower
